Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Celebrating the civil rights leader's life and legacy.

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American clergyman, activist and prominent leader in the African-American civil rights movement. His main legacy was to secure progress on civil rights in the United States, and he has become a human rights icon: King is recognized as a martyr by two Christian churches.[1] A Baptist minister,[2] King became a civil rights activist early in his career. He led the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1957, serving as its first president. King's efforts led to the 1963 March on Washington, where King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech. There, he raised public consciousness of the civil rights movement and established himself as one of the greatest orators in U.S. history.

In 1964, King became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his work to end racial segregation and racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other non-violent means. By the time of his death in 1968, he had refocused his efforts on ending poverty and opposing the Vietnam War, both from a religious perspective. King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 and Congressional Gold Medal in 2004; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was established as a U.S. national holiday in 1986.

Thank you to all and everyone. I was discussing how blessed I feel having a "stella artois" (left that out above) after my r-ball game, thank you. Below is a short description of moi' (keynotes), as requested from a sponsor, to post.

Gary Guller is both a world-renowned, record-setting mountaineer and a professional motivational and inspirational speaker, trusted by the world’s top organisations and corporations. In 2003, Gary was leader of the largest ever cross-disability group to reach Mt Everest Base Camp, at 17,500 feet. After setting this record, he went on to scale the peak, reaching the summit on May 23, 2003, and becoming the first person with one arm to summit Mt. Everest. Later the next year, Gary lead an expedition to the summit of the world’s sixth highest mountain, Mt. Cho Oyu, located in Tibet. Gary has gone on to become a trusted keynote speaker and personal executive coach.

In Detail

Just as he discovered his passion for alpine climbing, Gary lost the use of his arm in a mountaineering accident. He stunned a medical team at Duke University by asking to have his paralysed arm amputated, and, after serious introspection, he began climbing again, surmounting the barriers that stood in the way of his dreams. Gary has travelled and climbed all over the world, including numerous trips to Asia.

What he offers you

Gary uses his extraordinary experiences to share with his audiences the importance of equality, determination, team-work and integrity, and how these traits lead to personal and professional success. Gary shows how acceptance of diversity and diversity of thought will serve a globally integrated world economy in a positive way. An inspirational speaker, he encourages audiences to look deep into themselves, motivating them to set goals to maximise their potential, placing fear and doubts aside to achieve success in business and life.

How he presents

Dinner: Outside by fireside. Garden salad, beets, spinach, balsamic, bleu cheese.

and...My favorite, again, so happy, Pizza The innovation that gave us the flat bread we call pizza was the use of tomato as a topping. For some time after the tomato was brought to Europe from the Americas in the 16th century, it was believed by many Europeans to be poisonous (as are some other fruits of the nightshade family). However, by the late 18th century it was common for the poor of the area around Naples to add tomato to their yeast-based flat bread, and so the pizza was born. The dish gained in popularity, and soon pizza became a tourist attraction as visitors to Naples ventured into the poorer areas of the city to try the local specialty.

Total training time of movement: 4hr 45mins. Good Sunday session.
